SW Wednesday

Seaquest has provided a good account for the Wednesday that we met out on the water for a fish, I had one of my best mates down that you will see in the pics is a double amputee who has been hanging for a fish & with a break in the weather / work I was able to get him on deck. MattMiller was also with us providing some good decky support with a plan to get my mate on to his first ever dhu

This bloke will let nothing defeat him (kicks my arse in ps3 with one hand) & armed with a Stella on a T Curve boated first dhu for the day on a McArthy glow after watching our action, little bit of quick thinking he was able to jam it in the rod holder side on & fight away.

Matt scored this cracking 16kg male on a Fanky

Very frustrating day to sound out the Dhu's that seemed to be moving around & not holding, we left the other boys at it to hit my spot x for a jig which has produced some good YTK & the day was no exception.

Big thanks to the boys who were too busy jigging away to snap any pics for me, the sashimi was reminder enough!

Good stuff guys. Good to see your mate got a dhuy in the end. Looks pretty happy in the second photo. How did he pull up, look like the beers were coming up as fast as they were going down.

Congrats on the first dhuy on a metal Matt. Cracker fish, will be hard to top.

Yeah was good to see him put

Yeah was good to see him put first runs on the board, he  ended up all good but the celebratory beer caught up with the many others consumed the night before giving me a few hours reprieve from the sledging he was dishing out

On ya Liam

was a good day out there for sure. Still frothing on that Dhuie. My PB on jig and my best for a few years.

Shannon's a dead set legend. Helping him wrangle that Dhuie was one of the coolest things i've done, his smile was priceless.

Cheers for the day out, always fun

I always use 60 pound, prefer to use the richter wind on's

Go as light as the territory & fish will let you. I lost a good fish earlier just prior to Matt's using a 10lb leader, could of shot myself for that

A good basic rule of thumb

Sat, 2011-08-13 10:37

mate is used double the strength of your mainline. I was running pe3 so i chose 60lb leader. Could go lighter but Dhuies have a rough gob (have the cuts to prove it) and you need that little bit extra insurance. Having said that a good, tough 40lb flourocarbon leader would be suitable if running pe2.
