Swan Cruise

I am thinking of taking the family for a cruise and fish on the Swan tomorrow. Where do you reccommend I launch from?

Use the east side ramp at Belmont if a 20ft+ boat.  There is a hole on the West side...well was when I used it 1 yr ago.  As Feral said, it is 8 knots from that ramp upstream, so good for a cruise.

If after a feed, I'd launch down near Freo....take the crab pots & squid jigs aswell as the rods.  Lots of fresh water upstream might dampen the fishing.

Cheers Pete

Yeah just picked some pots, and rigging floats on now.  How much line will I need in the river?

What do you folks use as bait.  Heard that lamb necks are good, but where do you get them?

you should be able to get them at most local butchers as people use them in stews.

net rope length depends on where you are going

at Campbells Barracks for a quick run to B'wall reach. Use about 20 m of rope. OR Rocky Bay?
