Swan River Bream

Went down to the Swan for a little flick around the Maylands area. Haven't fished the Swan for a while and I was so pleased to see how healthy that part of the river looks and it showed in the fishing. Caught 14 Bream (all undersize) some trumpeter and a flathead that went 32cm all within an hour and half. There was a couple unstoppables that took me into the structure but even the little ones had some go on the light gear. All taken on prawn and bony herring. Wasn't game to throw lures as there is a lot of structure to negotiate with in the area.

Got a few pics of the Bream below. Flathead caught on unweighted prawn right on dark hence no pic.

Cheers

I went further up on the tinnie yest arvo past basso and fished a spot not accessable landbased and got a few up to 27 cm, the most excitement was the small mulie sized baitfish fleeing and jumpin might av been a mulla chasin them, no take on a floating mulie tho.

Heaps of small bream around at the moment, especially around that area. A few bigger boys in the mix too.

Nice session, pity no big boys

That white house in the background looks pretty familiar. Might have to visit that spot to see if I can catch my first Swan bream soon.

Yep no secrets here Garrett if your thinking it's Tranby House your correct. Running sinker did the damage early then when they went off the bite unweighted and flicked into the snags brought them back on.

Ps. Sorry bout the pics not sure what I did wrong (first pics posted)

Nah mate didn't keep it. Don't keep anything from the river especially that far up. It's probably ok but I can't get my head around how muddy/dirty it may be do I release all. He didn't fight all that hard until just about in then took off and was good fun.

Have to head out soon on your tub Justo and try get into the Mackies!

Cheers
