Swan river shark attack

I just read there's been a young dude taken to hospital, after apparently being attacked by a bull shark at blackwall reach.
Not surprising, after seeing the amount of sharks in the swan river getting reported on dorsal

Was suppose to be heading there for a dive tonight, glad that was cancelled.
Hope he's ok and keeps all his limbs.
Ive never bother with my shark shield in the swan...thinking the risk of bulls sharks was extremely low, have always thought they hang further up in the fresher water.

Err, you may want to re-think that
The larger ones visit the brackish reaches further rivers up to pup. They then return to the saltier reaches or go back to the ocean

Dodgy spot.
Had many a great plummet at Blackwall jumping on the jellyfish from a great height. Never did feel too safe with water that deep and dark. Hope the guy comes through.

I dove off Blackwall when I was 19 and on a casual daytime mitsi. Chickened out half way and flattened my legs out and experienced what can only be described as severe pain. I've taken to Suicide Rock in recent times which is not as high as Blackwall but a better spot to park up with the kids but you do have to be mindful to jump out a bit further.
Officially off the Pies bandwagon
