Tackleworld Esperance got robbed this week
Submitted by woody on Fri, 2014-03-21 20:12
Just letting you guys know Tateys Tackleworld in Esperance got rolled this week. Lowlifes got a heap of Stellas and top end reels along with 3 electric reels and a swag of mid-low end large size reels. So once again if you see or hear of any reels for sale without receipts or boxes be very wary. The electric reels won't have cords either. Give the Espy cops a buzz on 90798999.

Bunch of low life's
I know the owners Rob and Mel from their previous business venture and they are great people.
An absolute shame to see such a nice family business be targeted by crime however unfortunately it is a sign of the times lately.
i hope whoever is doing these tackle shop raids get their just deserves with the authorities as well as the fishing communities!! All their actions do is drive up the cost of insurance premiums and restrict the chances of good tackle stores offering discounts to their faithful customers.

With all this crap that has
With all this crap that has happened recently hope that they beefed up their security( ie more cameras) so that these idiots will be caught! Maybe all other tackle shop owners should put some tracking chips in their high end reels on their shelves that are for display so if these idiots that steal them they can be tracked.
Any other ideas?
I would think it wouldn't be long before another shop to get done. Maybe we can help with some simple ideas for shop owners to do in case they get robbed to put an end to this crap. It's obvious that not much has been done from the first series of break ins that happened many months ago.

I suggested to my local tackle store
They need to get onto daiwa and shimano for them to supply "dummy"'reels for display purposes only.
similar to what they do at ikea for tv's. Put literally a demo reel in display but something without drag washers and internal gears ect.
that way if it was it get nicked it would basically be useless anyway.

that would actually be awesome if they did do it, cause these break ins are getting far too common.
