Tailor around Garden Island on the Jetski's
Submitted by Moking on Tue, 2012-12-11 16:09
Had call from Beau yesterday afternoon,to see if I was able to head out with him around Garden Island on the Ski's.
The conditon's were ideal for trolling around the reefs, and we had a ball catching these tailor.

That a baby sambo on the blue ice box, and a kg on the right. You get the Kg trolling?
Fishing and catching are two different things. But i want to learn how to catch.

We are in very shallow water
We are in very shallow water over the reefs-I don't think you would get a boat in where we are,as the waves are breaking over the reefs.

I'll give that to fisher kid,
I'll give that to fisher kid, looks very much like a sambo from that angle. Not bad for middle of the day, would have been a lot more fish earlier in the morning, ohwell next time.
Highlight of my day was a 5-6kg yellowtail king that was cruising with a school of buffalo bream in about 3m of water. Shot our from the school and swam around the ski for a bit before disappearing. If I had a plastic rigged on instead of richter plug I reckon he would've snaffled it. I made up for my extreme lack of fish with that one solid tailor :)
