When in the goldfields and want a bucket of tasty food. You got 2 choices . Kfc or the local lake. No guessing where this came from

How do you cook them Russ I have never tried them and am thinking of getting a few over the weekend as we have a few places local that are full of them

you can cook them any way
you can cook them any way you like. similar to others like prawn and crays but time is diff of cause. i have boiled bbqed and cooked in a garlic butter (shelled )
if shelling them before cooking freeze them then thaw if only in the fridge they can stay alive for several days. just shell them like prawns but tastier

I used to just boil them in
I used to just boil them in lightly salted water with a garlic clove or 2 and then just have yabby sandwiches when I felt like keeping it simple. so many ways to cook them . one thing tho they always taste great, sitting down with a fresh feed of them now , only out of the water 2 hours ago.
