thanks colin
I just want to put up a quick post to thank Colin and Sandra crew of ss Dreamweaver.
This morning i put my latest project in the water for a bit of a shakedown.the boat performed well until i reached michelmas island when it suddenly lost power then stopped, removing the cowling and discovering lots of smoke and melted wires, one coil completely destroyed led me to the conclusion that i was having a minor cooling problem :-)
I called Colin who galantly came to the rescue and towed us back to shore which was no mean feat given the size and weight of my boat.
once close to the jetty colin expertly managed to turn his boat full circle pointing me directly at the jetty ready for a nice soft landing.
on removing the head i found one piston had melted down completely :-(
the day was not a complete loss tho as whils we where waiting we caught a nice blackarse and a buffy
so a big thanks to Colin and Sandra for saving the day.
Im sure Colin will post the photos he so enjoyed taking whilsy he was towing us home
cheers

You're most welcome Dave!
Mate, you helped me out when our vehicle was in after Sandra's crash - so it's the least I could do mate!
Look on the bright side mate - hey; you had BRILLIANT fuel economy on the way home
Glad I had the forsight to knock up a bridle/tow rope kit a while back.
Any time Dave
- well once anyway LOL
Soon to be de "dreamweaver" ed!

Good one Dreamy
It is good to have someone to count on when you get in trouble on the water.

not good when you break down
not good when you break down and when the damage is that bad it feels like a real kick in the guts. good to see friends helping each other out as i would do the same. i have been left high and dry waiting for sea rescue. hope you get the prob sorted but maybe look at a new donk rather than fixing the old. at least you got in safe and got dinner
