They're crayfishing - I'm dropping a line
Submitted by Jamman on Fri, 2006-12-08 20:10
Guys...going with a mate on his boat tomorrow. He's got SCUBA gear so he's going to be crayfishing (looping). I am hoping to flick something out and try my luck.
Any suggestions on what I should go for? I believe we'll be about 1km off Cottesloe in about 10-14m of water (I hope this is right).
Will be in the water about 7am until 12pm.
Thanks.

Good luck
Good luck out there Jamman, hope the conditions are ok!!!! I'm going for a river bash in the morning to see if we cant find some tailor and just to double check if it was the right decision to call the Invitational off.

Adam....probably a good idea
Adam....probably a good idea about the calling off. The breeze came in early (just as we decided to head back - around 11am).
Ended up with only 5 sized crays by the way. I had a fish but caught some reef fish I wasn't familiar with (sorry, no pics).
Here is a pic of the cray catch though. Will try again soon.
Cheers!

Good stuff
Good stuff Jamman, looks like you did ok and got a nice feed there. Thought the wind did come in early, but was still perfect for a few hours to be out there. Argh well, hopefully next weekend is a pearler.
