Things are on the mend - Exmouth

Well after some pretty lean pickings due to horrid weather over the past few weeks, things seem to be on the mend with the fishing starting to pick up.

Even though we didn't get a hell of a lot today, you can just feel that its not far off getting good.  Got to Bundegi this morning and was greeted by 2kg GT's smashing the hardies, moved over to the Islands and got a nice 70cm trout, a Rankin, a Spango and a few other oddities.  (Lucky and Merman did it tough on plastic and jigs for most of the day)  Having to get back early we decided to go for a quick dive on the otherside of the island which was still quite green in 4m, but better than what it has been and able to be dived, but not easily.

Heading back in we found masses upon masses of mack tuna going off, hopefully they stay in the gulf for a while and we have the awesome sessions on them like we did last year.  If sheer volume of fish and today is anything to go by, then we should have some excellent options coming up.  Back at the ramp one local guy had been getting a few jacks, queenies patrolling the shallows and large schools of yellowfin whiting all looking hungry.  There also has been some other news floating around of things happening in the gulf, but thats just secret squirrels for now, nothing you Perth guys would be interested in anyway. ;)

The weather is forecast to go crap again for the next week, but once it clears up, Lucky and I will be giving the billies a red hot go and I would be expecting some action!

Cheers,

Adam

Here's a pic of today's trout and why the gulf was and has been stirred up for so long.
