4 Day Benda... Trout Anyone?
Gday Crew,
I havent posted any of our fishing trips on here before but i love this site and love the reports and comments that everyone puts up. We head out most R&R's we are back pending weather and do alright. My partner and I are very keen fisherman
First drop for bagafillets 630mm Trout
Was nice to get some decent weather for R&R for once so managed to get out and hit a couple of spots and get a keeper or 2
First day we headed straight out of the mariner, second day we headed south, third day we headed north and the fourth just outside the shipping channel
These are some photos over the days, bagged out on trout everyday and caught and release alot more (must be the warmer water) but they were everywhere.
All fish were picked up on plastics and lures
Then another...
Second days first drop... another 600mm... yep mines coming, by this time i was red with envy... and told him wasnt allowed to fish anymore!! LOL
My first for the day, on the trawl... not a big one but a keeper
So this is the start of the 3rd day, i was winjing that i was a couple of days a darker shade of brown but the fish were on the bite and guess what? His first drop for the day, produces a nice little baldie
Mine, but not as big...
Give the Stella FE and Tournament Master Z a good work out
My biggest for the weekend, finally... Not sure about the rod in the mouth shot tho
Last one for the day, time to head home
After a fun few days, get back to the ramp and think oh no... Poor guys!!!
4th Day, its absolutely cranking from the NE and it was S#$T!!! Cause we had such a good day at our northern spot we were going to head out there agian, but cause it was so rough we thought why not trawl on our way and hopefully by the time the weather drops we'd be there, so other half is setting the spread, my rod first... then his rod... and hey, that'd be right... not even 20m into it, his rod gets a hit... Look what it is...
After getting this we decided to head in... other half had a fix out job to do... mind you on his week off! But got out again that arvo
We decided to hit the same area again, this ground gets a bit of a hammering but obviously the fish are there but there had been a few small tuna and mackies caught in the same area so we went out in search of them
One of the tuna we got
and one of the small mackies
Bit of an over kill but our new combos wanted first blood, i got a Stella 8000SW with the Live Fibre Venom or alternative Smiths Offshore Stick; the other halfs Saltiga 20/10 5000H on a very blinged up... Spartan or the alternative AZUZA. Thanks to Pete, Tim and Tyson at Bluewater Tackle Morley and Brian at Complete Angler for your assistance, always do the righty by us everytime we are down.
These combos are for our Mackies trip at the start of April, I know there will be a few crew there, hopefully get to meet some Fishwreck crew there to exchange some fishy tales over a couple of quiet beers
Cheers crew, Happy Fishing
Got to get out there!

Some cracker trout there.
Some cracker trout there. More around than is usual for Gero, that's for sure.
Does anyone know where the love of god goes, when the waves turn the minutes to hours?

some great trout for the mid
some great trout for the mid west, be good to hear the story of the boat at the ramp too.
I had a free dive close to town a few weeks ago and saw a nice trout only a few hundred metres offshore in about 3m water.

Thanks for the comments everyone
It was really good to get some good weather to get out, doesnt always happen most breaks but when it does we take advantage of it.
We have a month off in a couple of weeks, hopefully we get some good weather. So will put up some more photos and a report then and also from our Macky Islands trip at the start of April
Lucky Tim, not sure what happened with the boat, they got towed in by Geraldton Sea Rescue... didnt really want to pry into it, maybe heard something about the bungs but dont quote me on it. i really did feel for the guys, not good when you see a nice boat like that underwater. Hopefully they get it sorted.
Got to get out there!

trout
nice report and some nice fish!
warmer water always brings the big trout out locally - easter is normally hot off gero for monster trout but with the warmer than usual waters they have reallly been going off.... the numbers we have seen free diving locally would blow alot of ppls minds...

as old fart and me haven't hit the water for nearly 20 months due to his eye problems, the freezer is empty of delicious fish, squid and occie, but hopefully within the next two months, we'll stick the old girl in the water. Love your report and photos, excellent, can't wait for more adventures with your partner. Girl power hahahaha
