Thinking of Selling my Dinghy
Submitted by Jackfrost80 on Wed, 2021-02-17 10:56
I am coming around to thinking that the time has come to part ways with my dinghy I bought new in 2014 which just isn’t getting the use or love that it deserves with my boys now older and wanting to head out in the boat rather than allowing me to escape for a solo bream session.
- Finn Spindrift 3m (2014)
- Tohatsu 2 stroke 6hp (2014) – serviced regularly and is in as good as new condition.
- JW Watersnake 54lb bow mounted electric motor (2016)
- Century 105ah deep cell battery (2018)
- Older licenced trailer which has rusted areas but I had Seakem weld a 5mm plate to the worst area for added security. Replaced axle, springs and hubs in 2014.
- I also have two transducers attached to the transom – a LSS1 and a standard 83/200
- I only the one 2019 HDS7 Carbon (4 month’s warranty left) that I share between the boat and the dinghy but am thinking it might be best to include the HDS7 with the dinghy and upgrade the boat’s to the HDS7 Live.
- Also has Railblaza rod holders and a drink holder, sea anchor, anchor, rod holders up front etc etc and I made a casting deck for up front to steer the leccy motor and get right under those snags
All up including the HDS unit I have outlaid approx. $5,990.
If I were ever going to part ways with my first love now would be the time with the ridiculous prices people are getting for leisure items and am thinking at floating it up at a high price and seeing if I get any nibbles but what is a realistic price should I stick it up for as a starting point?

Slap it up on gumtree saying. Want to swap for 21ft fiberglass fishing boat 4st (low hrs) or new landcruiser 200series plus cash either way will also consider new harley or lifted 79series cruiser (low kms) seems to be the normal asking price for things.

Load up the car Frosty and we’ll pick up Boon on the way.
Boony, mine were all pre 2000 models, mostly 97-99. It seems to be a few lifetimes ago these days. Some excellent times were had and I'm still friends with people that I met from that era. I walk past some of the old venues and get chills down my spine the music and smells of the room most importantly the vibe comes rushing ( pardon the pun ) back.
Lets name a few shall we?.
Feel free to add to them.
The Leederville Wednesday nights
Arcadia on a Tuesday
Redheads for Monday madness
The Aberdeen on Thursdays
Bennys and Phillimores for a not so quiet Sunday.
Roller at the Rosemount
Connies any old time. Always had the best light shows and the best people.
Gilkisons dance studio HOLY FUCK . One of my best nights ever.
Embassy ballroom
Geisha
Dc's and even better was Gravity out the back.
Belmont park racecourse. Frosty was here.......
The Loft
The Greenwich under His Majesty's
The Flying Scotsman
Dr feelgoods @ the Boulevard ( now Balmoral) on Wednesdays too

I was never much of a nightclub fella. It was a DnB rave Saturday, the Lookout or Gravity/The Drum Club Friday, Leederville/Hippy Club on Wednesdays, Sluggers on Thursday and Scallywags DnB with Sir Greg Packer and co on a Sunday... not necessarily on the same week. Usually followed by a visit to the infamous 24hr deli on Walcott St.
I caught the back end of DC's and only ever got in twice as they used to pick on my jacket that had a Rip Curl logo on it.
The dad of my son's best mate at school is a fella who used to be in my MIRC chatroom and we attended many a large night together and both familys have become pretty tight.

I had tafe on Thursdays so that was my recovery day from the leederville/hippy club night before hand, those two combined always ended in a blurr. Done a few sunday sessions at the cott upstairs, but a little to pretentious for me. Paramount nightclub was my go to in northbridge.

Always started the night at Shaftos then onto Eagle one for the hot bar maids. Gobbles for good live music. But my sort of usual live music venue was the High Wycombe to watch the Reporters on a Friday night.

Cold Chisel at the embassy
Cold Chisel at the embassy ballroom shortly before they demolished it. Barnsey climbing the speaker stack and walking along the handrail for the upstairs viewing area pouring vodka on the audience below. Never forgotten it, and fucken loud.

How good was she?.
I saw them live once and I had to smash my way to front of stage to droooool whist she was doing rude shit to her mike. Wendy James from Transvision Vamp was a dirty little number whilst we're at it. Suzy Demarche from Baby Animals was rather kind on the eye too...:)
