Thursday Jiggging session
Submitted by joe m on Thu, 2012-01-19 18:39
Took advantage of glamour weather today and shot out off two rocks to try out some new jigs. Ive only just started using jigs so not too sure about my technique yet but still managed a few. These were taken in 50m.

Nice fish mate! That's a thumper Queenie! Your jigging techniques are obviously working, only pointer I have is try take a photo as soon as you get the fish out of the water while it's fresh and even leaving the jig in the mouth looks good ;) (That queenie woulda been great looking straight from the water) What jigs did the damage today?

Nice fish mate. There is no real one technique to jigging. I have been out with heaps of different crew who all have their own style and all catch fish. Cracks me up with people offering jigging tutorials at a cost. Just get out there and mix it up and you can't go wrong.

Jigging
Whatever works is how it should be used, and it looks like it's working. Quality snapper in the first pic.

Few good fish there - never seen a queenie on jig before
When asked by a non-fisherman 'how many fishing rods do you really need?' the correct answer is either:
n+1 (where n is the number of fishing rods you currently own); or
n-1 (where n is the number of fishing rods which would cause your significant other to dump you.
hit n run
