Tie downs

 Hi guys.

wondering if anyone can suggest some good transom tie down straps?   I have been looking but unsure which are most appropriate.

i have a set of 450kg lashing capacity, 0.5m length, but they are just too long. Seems 0.5m seem to be the shortest I can find.

not keen to have to resort to one that goes over the whole boat as will be a nuisance to put on each time.

any suggestions?

cheers!

goat.

There is also a place in MAddington that will custom amke or cut down straps for next to nothing, called Commerical Sewing.

 Thanks guys!

will get to the polish over the weekend. Looking closer they seem like marks, rather than any damage, picked up some polish with a bit of grit from hitech which they reckon should do the job!, then will give it a good wax after.

cheers!

Have a look at the boat buckle

Permanently mounts to the trailer so a lot less stuffing around

Just had a look at them. They look like a good idea but seem pretty lightweight foe a boat of any size. Only have a 225kg SWL

They put your tiedowns in a different place to mine

Mine are outboard, in the fibreglass, instead of being through the thickest part of the transom. I guess it was done to suit the trailer, as the tie-down points are on the outside of the taillights. I've never found what I consider to be the ideal tie-down strap, and are currently using a heavier version of you normal tie-down, with the fixed strap cut away and replaced with a shackle to get the length down.
