tm 260 placement help
hi guys , ive got a furuno 587 with a tm 260 on the back of my 8m ali , i had it installed by Ben from fibrelite (recommended by Rhys at furuno) and while the install was great and the unit is excellent at lower speeds , i can only get a good clear reading at up to 18 knots. (20-60m of water) i understand 100m+ depths require a slower speed.
i have moved it down twice slighty and made an ali plate to stop the roostertail off the tranny hitting the side of the 250 yami my question is should it be angled down at the rear ? and if so how much? and how far under the hull should the bottom face of the tranny be?. (i am fairly certain i have all the settings right after having quite a few guys familiar with furuno in the boat and Rhys's help from furuno.
any help appreciated

Hey Ryan
Have a TM258 on back of my boat (same as 260 size wise etc) connected to Koden CVS128. 6.4m Ali.
Had similair issues.I moved mine up a touch actually as it was too deep/throwing tail and dropping out. Took a few goes to get it right.
Angled slightly down towards rear, but not alot , sits about 5mm under hull at very rear of tranny and follow line of bottom of boat.I can sit on 25-30knots now and very few drop outs unless airborne.
Happy for you to come over for a look if you like. Drop me a PM . I live NOR.
