todays report
took flangies out for abream session this morning hoping to get him his first blackie. we got to the spot at about 9 or so after 2 hours of gathering bait. i had a hookup at about 1030 but the bloody thing busted me of on 2lb. at the end of our session when we rain out of bait..... bream 1 us 0
we then took a drive to our next spot. we casted plastics around for a good 2 hours before thinkin lets go back to the car. we flicked around on the way back, until flangies hooked up. a minute later we had the biggest landbased herring i have ever seen landed..on plastics. we estimated it at around 40cm and over half a kilo.
shortly afterwards, i hooked up. another BIG herring for the bag. mine was slightly smaller than flanges but still a good catch on 2lb and plastics. ill post up the picture when i can get it off my phone

Was mad as! i was just flicking and walking not expecting anything at all then bang! this HERRING starts taking drag!! im still in mid conversation and im thinking what the hell ! rude! after an epic struggle i got the thing in and we celebrated till the bloody thing jumped back in the water!! ah well we had a good look and hold of it and felt the weight of it.
then the dodgy gaff man next to me hooks up on 2lb all im hearing is YEP YEP YEP NAH DROPPED HIM damn it... ffs YEP YEP STILL GOT HIM, IM ON, IM ON YEP YEP
its only a herring mate haha then he lands it and sticks it in the heshen bag.
Frigging massive it was huge!
Unfortunately my daiwa procaster had an unfortunate accident and had to be retired early :( gonna miss her

it was in the river colin...
it was in the river colin... great little session this arvo with the lures. we would ahooked into a few more if we had some twisties and the like but flangies left his lures at home and i left mine in the car

he only brought his plastics in the though we were only breaming but when nothing was happening adnw e wer outta bait we decided to go. i left my lures with my dasd cos he asked for a minnow lure and i gave him the whole box. james lost the ceramic out of the top eye on his rod.
