Towing the boat up to Leeman

Hi all,

I have used the search function and the posts that I have found are a little old but I have booked in to Leeman from the 10th of Jan to the 13th and weather permitting at the time, I'll tow up my boat.
My young fella is starting to show interest in coming out fishing where he never used to and I am hoping to get the boat out. I haven't pushed the subject with him in the past as I don't want to scare him off by making him do something he doesn't want to do but while the interest is there, I'll encourage it. I have read some mixed reports on the new boat ramp from previous posts about it being a bit hard to use and was just wondering if anyone could shed some light on ease of use and something about missing ladders?
I understand that the ocean is a big and gets rough but is sheltered water easy to find so that I don't scare my son getting him sea sick. Are there areas that I need to steer clear of? I normally fish out of Point Perron and have had him out a few times on good days so he's fine on the boat on calm-ish water but he has the attention of a gold fish when the fish aren't chewing.
If it's generally rough all year round, then I'll just leave the boat home as I was intending on taking it so that I can take him out while the wife looks after the youngest.

Thanks in advanced,
Ken

 Hi Ken,

My advice would be to go and have a chat with the Leeman sea rescue people that monitor  the area, their shed is near one of the boat ramps, l have gone and said gday to them a few times and they have been fantastic. Go up on a favourable  weather forecast and you dont have to go to far to get in to a bit of action. Have a great time with you young fella cheers.

Thanks Blitzed. Hopefully have good weather and if the boat comes along, I'll check in with sea rescue.
