Dawesville - end of ban dhuie bash

Hey guys,

Heading Bouvard for a wedding this weekend . Thinking of heading for a drop Friday morning if the weather comes good . Forecast not flash atm . Never fished out from the cut . Thinking starting off in 20s close in where crays are running and possibly 30s (green fish)- weather permitting. Any tips appreciated . launch/retrieve PB Marina .

Fall back is crabs in the estuary :)

Cheers,
Adam

 Dont drive over the FFB

Dont drive over the FFB without having a drop plenty good fish on it expecially when the crays are thick. Another option is to head south to the bouvard reef. But the way the forecast is crabbing mught be a more comfortable day.

Was there this weekend and there's tonnes of crabs around estuary side while I was popping for whiting but heaps of jennys and only just undersized blues. Gonna be a goooood season I reckon. Heaps of big whiting around smacking lures on the flats too.

Was a fair few boats sitting just 2-3 miles out off Dawesville cut so roddo is onto something.

Whiting firing in and out off the Cut

Jack. The boats that you can see out from the cut mostly target big sandies. The further out ones trying for Snaps etc. But you do get bigger demersals just out from the Cut on the "cray" reefs, I just haven't scored many (yet)

Cheers for the info. I did have a look on Navionics and it raises from 13 to  9m around where they were sitting so I'll still have a look next time I'm down.

Was down to help the old boy shift 6m3 of paving sand and lay 150m2 of lawn this time around so no boating. Florida beach looks promising for mulloway!

 There's nothing out from

There's nothing out from dawesville better of heading north of Mandurah or south of Bunbury. Yellowfin whiting and crabs (the non eating type) is all that's about. Nah jj the three mile or five fathom back which ever you want to call it generally has pinkies all year round with a good chance of picking up a dhuie. Anchor and burley is the best method for this on the five fathom bank in my opinion. From there it's pretty flat for the next 10 or so nautical miles until you hit the 30mtr contour line. There sure small lumps here and there but you have to keep a close eye on the sounder. From the 30mtr line to the 40 mtr line it's pretty much the same thing. Straight out from the cut it's approximately 22 nautical miles to the 40mtr mark. Plenty of fish in between just not many big ledges.
