Trailer hitch extention

Anyone have or seen one? Would light to have the trailer further back when the ramp is shallow, so that the wheels of the tow car doesn't get wet.

Hitch Extension
Yeah I've seen a guy use an extention on the tow hitch at tandabiddi ramp Exmouth. The guy used a long piece of 50mm x 50mm square tubing it slid into the main drawbar on the trailer and he had another tow hitch fixed to the end which was connected to the tow ball on the vehicle. There must have been a pin or bolt in the drawbar to lock it in. The extention was aprox 5 metres long and it did the job.

Alfreds ive just spent the
Alfreds ive just spent the last 30 minutes trying to write this .blobby putor .hicup hicup
mate i used to have a 3 metre swinging draw bar on my good old 14 ft tinnie which would extened to 6 m teloscopic,, great for mangrove launches ,i think what your chasing, 3 metres would be plenty .its a piece of piss to set up ,, with a bit of for thought .i know your boats a lot heavier than what i had but you will sort it easy with heavier gauge material
p.s i over did mine to the max and reckon it would of handled a lot heavier boat.best thing i did and could launch and retreive in sloppy conditions of the beach without bogging the 4wd and salting the shite out of it .
pp.s the boat always got a good drenching though, but not the car
always in it just the depth that varies

Trying to design one.
Trying to design one. Would like an extra meter, just enough to keep the rear wheels from getting wet. Would be great if I could tow with it, but I don't think it will be allowed unless it is made as a longer replacement tongue. Then it has to go over the pits again!

Trailer extension
My trailcraft has a 1.4m extension...which uses two locking bolts to make it towable....slides down inside the main drawbar...
Trailit trailers could be worth a call to see if you can do it to yours

Alfred
When I had a Honda CRV it had the spare tyre on the back. So the bike rack that I previously had couldn't be fitted under the standard tow ball.
I found a place in EVP/Bentley that did extensions and that slid into the main draw bar.
Sorry, but I can't remember the name of the place. But might get you thinking.
I don't think it was a meter long, but can't see why they or someone else couldn't make one up for you.
I've still got the unit, so if you wish, I can take a pic later and post it up?

Colin, I am interested in
Colin, I am interested in the tow hitch extender. Have seen it, but not here.
Extending the tongue will be the best, but I have hydraulic brakes, so it means that I will need plumbing work done as well. If I could extend it by 1 meter it would be just what I need.

we use a swing arm that gets pinned to a spot near the mud guards of the trailer ... when its swung out it adds about 3 m ... makes it so much easier with the drive on trailer of the cat .

yep
Thats what a few of the local guys use, just a swing arm thats held in by a pin. Makes it piece of piss to launch/retrieve from tantas on a low tide.

My trailer has a folding
My trailer has a folding tongue already, so I am looking to extend it. Checking now to see who can do the plumbing work as the fittings for the brakes are yank.
