Trailer over the pits

Hey guys looking at. A boat with an unlicensed trailer. What's the go with getting them over the pits how picky are they. The guys moved the which bar back and reckons it's just a matter of moving that forward (nuts and bolts) and the leafs are a touch on the rusty side other than that it looks ok any advice?

I bought a wreck of a trailer last year and pretty much rebuilt it only using a couple of the original parts and the cradle itself. I didn't look up the rules and got some advise from the trailer repairer I bought it from. I took it out to the pits at welshpool and they were really good to me. It trurned out that I was slightly long to have no clearance lights and the bloke was good enough to allow me to return the next morning with clearance lights fitted. He could have made me re apply and cost me another application but he let it slide by holding the paperwork overnight for me. I put a new buiild compliance plate on it.

I would say if it is basically original and everything is working, you shouldn't have too many problems. I'm not sure if the location of the winch bar matters but I don't think so.

took mine to Zed's mec in bibra lake.

trailer is 2002 and boat was on it at time of inspection.
.compliance plate I didn't have ..so he made one up and stamped.
.test all lights/indicators inc side clearance (wiring has to be held with metal (not nylon cable ties)
.check reflectors
.check tyres
.jack up and test brakes

all good to go.

don't forget to get a temp moving permit !

Have a chat to the people at your local inspection station. When I had to get a trailer registered that was used but never registered in Aus the guy I went to was really good about it.
