Transducer question

Hi guys,
quick question for you. Tried researching this specific question to no avail.
i am currently overseas and have access to a furuno 288. This is the 295 equivalent but made for the Asia region.
it comes with a 50hz 50B-6B 1kw tranny. My question is I have an Ali boat so it will have to be transom mounted. If I got the mount fabricated would this work? Or is the transducer useless.
will a 50hz tranny suffice or should I look at getting a 200hz one as well?
thanks for your help in advanced

im running the 50b-9b
when i had an ali hull i transom mounted it in a housing which worked well. but, it wasnt the most ideal set up as it acted as one large trim tab. with a good fabricator though it would be possible to hull mount it but it wouldnt be cheap.

depends
Mate depends on what your doing? If your going to be working deep water say 150-200meter plus and thats all then the 50hz will be what you want. But if your shallower then 200hz is what you want as well. My i suggest you get a duel frequency you will be so much better off. (Im assuming the 50b-9b is only 50hz)... To Transom mount sorry mate i cant help ive seen pictures like what southcity has done.
