Transducer - Side by Side or Port

Hi All,

Will be installing a new furuno sounder that will be going next to my HDS combo, so i am wondering what you think would be the best option for the new tranny location?

1) Side by side with the Lowrance tranny(50/200) on the starboard side.

2) Remove the Lowrance tranny and fit the new tranny(P66) in its location.

3) Fit the new tranny on the Port side

Any help much appreciated.

Cheers.

What frequency will the Furuno trans be - if they are differing frequencies they are less likely to have interference problems.

Edit - just did a search its also 50/200 so would be better mounted further away but that depends on your mounting options on your boat etc. Could always run the Furuno on 50hz and Lowrance on 200hz or vise versa when running them together)

As for removing the Lowrance trans obviously you will lose the back up of having this on board

Will be both the same, 50/200. If going side by side or even port side yeah would either run the lowrance on 50 and furuno on 200 or just not plug in the lowrance at the head unit.

Yeh dont run them at the same time you will just get noise! I tried mine running Chirp vs 200kz and yeh noisy as. Havnt played with noise rejection but i never intended to run them together except to compare for some others!
