Would like to know if anyone has sent a boat interstate before? If so who did you use and how much did it cost?
I have to sell or send a friends boat over to QLD. Ive been care taking it for him and since I havent been able to sell it I need send it ASAP. Its a 5.10 Stessco cuddy. Some motors on it that would be better as moring anchors (even with 38hrs on them). The owner is a little greedy but I'd be able to talk him down on anyones behalf. there is a bowrider on boatsales asking 18k I think this thing is worth 13k with the current motors

I just shipped a boat from
I just shipped a boat from Brisbane to Perth using CRA transport. I was going to start a thread about it as I was so impressed with the service from them. It's a small operation so you deal direct with the owner and driver. He goes out of his way to help, collecting the boat in Brissie for me and storing it at no extra cost. It came across quickly (4 days) and was clean on arrival, unlike a car I shipped across which arrived covered in mud (different company).
There were a couple of issues on the way across, which were my fault. Basically, my trailer was so rusty that a couple of the cross members snapped, and the whole boat was at risky of dropping onto the truck. The driver was awesome - sending me photos and keeping me updated as to what was happening. He had to stop at an engineering workshop in Port Augusta for 5 hours to have some brackets made to prevent the trailer falling apart further. Even though I had cost him 5 hours driving time, and he had to pay the workshop, I wasn't up for any extra cost. I've always though the real test of a business was how they deal with issues as they arise, and this company was faultless.
The icing on the cake was the assistance from the truck driver on delivery. The boat needed to be forked off the truck as the trailer was stuffed, and the driver was a huge help. I had to go back to work, but the driver helped my wife connect the trailer to her car so she could take it for repairs after the boat was unloaded. The service from the driver was amazing, even after I had cost him time and money on the way across.
If I had to ship another boat, I would call Chris from CRA Transport without hesitation. I have no affiliation with him, just super impressed with the price and service I received.

they are an italian motor
they are an italian motor apparently. its hard trying to find servicers and suppliers as they are not very well known. I'm not a fan of them. smelly lumpy 2 strokes and they only have 38hrs on the clock.
