Travelling north, please think again in the short term.

If you are thinking of travelling north to Carnarvon, Coral Bay, Exmouth or Onslow please keep in touch with Main Roads because we are expecting flooding in the areas north of Kalbarri to Exmouth with the tropical low that is approaching the coast as we speak.
Expected rainfall over the area is between 50-100mm with some areas receiving 150=200mm, this will result in stream and rivers rising rapidly
Heard a whisper this morning that Exmouth is refusing any more visitors in the short term due to the possibility of being cut off again

Cheers. Heading to steep point next weekend. Will watch the road reports and check with the shire before we leave. We have plan b..... Cape Peron. DEC don't close roads as quick as the shire of shark bay!

just got back from shark bay,
just got back from shark bay, had some rough weather early in the week with the road to useless loop being closed twice and us having to do water crossings to get from the stations to steep point. it cleared and we had constant 30kph+ winds after that
