A trip with Epic Adventures

Well been in NZ over a week now, and the weather / fishing conditions have not been the best with the sea temps down from what they should be.

Staying in a small town on the east side of the corromandel, a place called Tairua,  I have found some great LB spots but water temp is not in my favor,  so as with every holiday you have a back up plan,

Mine was with the Guiding outfit EPIC.

I met the guide Owen at the boat ramp in the morning and he already had jigged up a couple of live bait tanks of yakkas, so all Andrea and I had to do was jump on board the stabi craft half cab?

Punching out in lumpy dark water with a pain in the arse wind I thought I was going to hurl my toasted vegemite sandwhich up, but the Paihia bombs held true to form,,,,,, really like these tablets.

Once out dropped a couple of jigs and gave it a good hard go but nothing.Mostly all live bait with these guys on the days out with them due to a shut down bite, only the lively of baits would get hit, but as the day wore on I did get some on the jig but no Kings

Got to admit that the baits were a lot easier on the body

Wish we had some more John Dory's around here as they are a beautiful delicate fish to eat.

Great shots and arm stretchers there.
