Hi All,
pretty new to freshwater fishing - could anyone give any tips on what would be some good lures to try for trout and redfin in the up coming season. Any help would be appriciated. Cheers

Good old Halco's IMO. I'm
Good old Halco's IMO.
I'm assuming you are shore bashing, so my recommendations will reflect that.
Scorpion 35's - the sneaky versions. These things are dynamite - get the trout patterns and my personal favourite bloodnut.
Laser Pro 45's. Once again, trout colours are good, and last year anything green was red hot - not sure if that will hold this year, but it cant hurt to have that option.
Other than that, pretty much any hardbody lure that you would use for bream fishing will do the trick. Redfin will hit pretty much anything you throw out there, trout are the fussy ones. Oh, and make sure you have the appropriate freshwater fishing license!

I have no idea if you find
I have no idea if you find yabbies in Harvey Dam, but I'd doubt it. Marron for sure when the seasons starts (usually Jan/Feb next year).
Not sure if you are aware or not (the yabbie question is what is prompting me to tell you), but Harvey Dam is a fly and artificial lure fishery only - no baits/burley.

Didn't Know that
Cheers mate, I guess you couldn't go for yabbies then. How could you get marron in season if you can use pellets?

REDDIES
I have been catching redfin pearch in the warren and murray rivers for a while .They will take most any thing with red on .Fishing in a river you will lose a lot of gear on snags.fishing in dams the the fish tend to school and dont get as big .I have caught my bigger ones on good old earth worms.
