Twisted leaders

I know this subject has been spoken about in other forums but i can't seem to track the right info down, im fiddling around trying to make up some twisted 100lb (200lb) leaders for my upcoming trip to exxy but im trying to suss out the best way to finish them off. twisting em up is easy but which end is best for the popper? the 'loop' end or tying a crane and split ring to the tag end? as for length in feet i guess ill be looking around the four foot mark

any info appreciated

tag end

tie the popper on the tag end... there's no way you'll tie your braid onto the tag end :P would hate to be your guides if you do it that way.

if you make your twisties longer so they just get onto the spool you'll find you save your finger a lot of pain.. 2*100lb is much nicer on the finger than 80lb braid especially when you're throwing 150grams.

go to caranx.net and you'll find a fair bit of discussion there about it and also Che/Hal's pics/instructions.

can't wait to use mine.. just made up a few for exxy on thursday!

When are you going to Exxy? Are you gonna be chasing GT's while you're there?

Like a twisted dropper loop

Like a twisted dropper loop i guess you could say, you twist the line heaps so it twists on it self so a 6mtr piece of line becomes 3mtr's and just tie a three turn uni knot to a swivel at the lure end and a split ring as your connection.

Thats how i've sussed it at this atage

Its not like twisting two

Its not like twisting two lines together, one end of the line is stationary and you twist the other end so the line wants to twist up on itself and yeah a bimini catspawed the the loop end of the leader
