Two Rocks Jig Sesh & macky!!
Went out yesterday from Two Rocks for some more demersal jigging and had a great day despite the weather forecast being wrong!
Good mate Frank came out on my boat and despite the fast drift and sloppy winds/conditions we got fish. Ended up bagging out on Dhufish and breaksea etc!
The Daiwa Pirate and Eupro Pirate jigs working very well yesterday and especially with the fast drift. We had a few assist being snipped off late in the day and one of my metal jigs came back with fang marks ...... mmhhhhh macky's?
Dropped down my pirate jig and within seconds I'm on ....... the fish put up a great fight on PE3 spin and had my new JM Fallings UL rod buckled over. After some fast runs and circle work under my boat I neally had it landed (few close moments near prop) but Franky did well with the gaff and the macky was boated .......... getting that on jig made my day =)
Shit conditions indeed but ended up with quality fish on jig and great company Frank ......... cheers for getting a good pic also mate
Franks biggest Dhu for the day!

Fark yeah!!! Big late season macky!
Hey Ryan, when the wind is up the drift is fast, is it as simple as just uping the weight of the jigs or is there more too it?
cheers

Report!
Yes winter and they're still around .......I've been watching the water temp up there and every trip its been warm for winter standards!
I've been commenting to mates that the mackys are still around and we should have another good macky season!
Yeh uncle its hard to go past dhu but I do like a fish with a bit of bite (pardon the pun) so I kept that fish and will share some with Franky also!
Paul, I normally step up in weight and if the drift and current is pushing your jig out on a bad angle then change the jig to a slender profile or pirate. Its important to have the jig in the fishes face and the right line angle will make the jig work better = more strikes!
Thanks guys

Congrats
Nice fish, bastards......... LOL.
My big dhu is just around the corner. Having said that I've caught seven dhus on jig on the last two trips. 25 in one trip is the benchmark I guess.
The best reason for doing what's right today is tomorrow.

When asked by a non-fisherman 'how many fishing rods do you really need?' the correct answer is either:
n+1 (where n is the number of fishing rods you currently own); or
n-1 (where n is the number of fishing rods which would cause your significant other to dump you.

Jigging!

Yo Bodie, this is a common question in my tackle shop and between myself and my staff we have found some great tips to get better results on jigs!
Pop in and speak to Josh or Blake as they jig for demersal's weekly like myself and we're happy to help!
Squid Jiggler, the Two Rocks boat ramp has a small single finger jetty but the ramp is fine still ......just be ready for a descent wait/queue on a weekend with nice weather!
Hayden, the Haines Patriot eats it up, worth every penny when you can travel fast & comfortable in shit conditions!
Thanks for all your comments above ...... much appreciated!
Cheers
