quick squid trip in Warnbro Sound

 G'Day,

Put the boat in at Bent Street ramp in Warnbro Sound on Saturday to check the area out.  It was the first time in Warnbro Sound so my girlfriend and I weren't sure where to go or what we could catch there. We decided that a cast over the weed for some squid wouldn't hurt and were rewarded with three squid for dinner. It took us two hours of drifting to get them and we only had mullie coloured squid jigs. I think next time I will take along a better variety of jig colours to try and produce a few more. However in saying that, the three we caught were enough for us and we were happy just to be out on the boat and enjoying the day.

Cheers

 They're some nice sized squid...

Must say that pink has always been a winner! Definitely wouldn't go squiding without a pink jig

G'Day sstevee, unfortunately my girlfriend caught the biggest one on the left and it was her first time squidding. She has given me calluses on my ears from banging on about it all week. I think next time she can use the mullie coloured one and I'll get a pink one.....

we were using a couple of Yo Zuri Aurie Q jigs. They were pilchard coloured ones. I have since gone and bought a couple of pink ones and some bright green ones but have yet to try them out. Hopefully I will manage to get out this week and give them a go. Cheers
