Good question Peter. The camera is mounted on a piece of ally hollow tube with a swivel at each end. It's only about 20cm long so technically it could be swiped by a shark pretty easily. Just taking the risk at this stage - it's an older camera and would give me an excuse to get a new one if it went missing!
