unknown exmouth fish id

ID please.

Fish was caught offshore Exmouth 2006 and 2007

We have been offered "football trout" but doesnt match photos we have been shown of football trout!

Going back to Exy in April so would really like to know what these are!

Going by my book it looks like a "Blunt-headed rock cod"
Found in offshore waters from Shark Bay northward,mainly western Pacific

get the emouth guru himself to have a look there flat chat! im sure he would be able to assist in identifing the culprit... definently not a footballer trout but... are they any good chewing carnarvonite??? have never heard of them before

Book says 3 out of 4 stars so must be reasonable chewing,still most rock fish with large scales are

Canarvonite's on the money, blunt headed rock cod.  Can't say I've ever eaten one though.
