Thanks for that guys. As much as I like surprises, like to know what I am eating.

The one to the left of it...

...looks like a dusky morwong. Eat that first; the red lipped one won't taste so bad.

The dusky was ok with sweet

The dusky was ok with sweet & sour sauce. Have had one with curry to. Not that bad I thought.  I also will eat Australian salmon when I catch them, which a lot of people won't touch. In response to killing without knowing what it is, I speared it under a dark ledge and thought it was a big juicy type of rock cod at the time. Needless to say it won't go to waste.

If you are that hard up for fish to eat  then may I suggest eating cardboard cartons, they will taste better than dusky and red lipped morwong.,

Buff bream are not too much better

A simple ID question and had a few people with thousands of posts reply with bullshit answers. Maybe triying  to sound funny or bash somebody to feel better about themselves. That's what I hate about social media and why I am not on Facebook either. Been a crap 3 days on fishwrecked and won't be back and all you posers, heroes and keyboard warriors can get fucked and take an electrici eel up the arse.

I wouldn't sweat it mate, some just can't help themselves. You had a legit question, but the truthful things is if you're spearing and can't ID then don't shoot it, fishing, pic and release.

Mate...you'd get these

Tue, 2020-04-14 15:30

Mate...you'd get these reply's no matter where you post due to the kill fish, ask later approach....by the sounds of it...you knew the response, you could have googled or used the recfish app......which I suggest you download and read before shooting away like Rambo next time I Have a mate who lives down south...just started catching Salmon he too cooks a few up, reading more and more people smoking curries etc. The fish above are pretty common along the rocks walls, although a weed eater I'm sure bleed and prepared correctly would be a feed non the less.Banded sweep etc come under the same scrutiny. Some people snub there nose at these and others as they have had it good with quality fishing close by or own a big boat not everyone can afford. Have you got any photos after filleting ? Edit...this is all you could manage at Dirt Hartog ?
