Upcoming Election - Shooters Fishers Farmers Party

It's going to be a tough one with One Nation pressuring a lot of seats, but if you want to keep Water ways open, fair access for 4x4 & Land use including Shooting and a fair go for farmers then consider supporting SFFP

Great to see this year there's 19 Lower house candidates and 16 Upper house candidates

Good luck Rick & Team!

Libs for me

Thu, 2017-03-02 22:29

I went Libs with a big secondary for Nats.
I like that the Libs have borrowed money to build infrastructure, the new stadium, hospital a Quay will prove worthy investments in my children's future!
Like the Nat's candidate down here as I think the Libs are trying to ride on Castrillis coat tails and not put any work into keeping the seat
They will pay at the box that's for sure.

Just putting this out there.
I believe that politicians of all stripes are grossly underpaid!
They either get paid at the front or at the rear but if we want good representatives we need people that are not chasing perks or benefits that they would not ordinarily have if they had not entered politics.

Minor party candidates can change governments on a whim but cannot change legislation without support from others.
SFFP are dreaming and leading people on if they offer change without owning a major party.

There is merit to your comment about pay. If you are paid a shit load, you less likely to have your opinion persuaded with gifts.

Double the wage and terminate the perks after office.

Not only that but if you can bridge the gap between public office and being CEO/director etc of a major private company you are going to attract a much higher calibre of people wanting to give political life a crack.

Was the most vocal opponent

Tue, 2017-03-14 19:37

Was the most vocal opponent of a mining tax 7 years ago yet led the charge for one in 2017.

Used Royalties for Regions funding to pork barrel for seats for the Nationals rather than a pure need basis.

Retired as leader only to take it back and cause untold internal upheaval and damage to the party 7 months out from an election.

Building luxury apartments in Karratha with public money that are empty and worth nothing.

What would I know though, I'm just a City slicker.

That's what happens when you get on the wrong side of the people with all the money. Started on Woodside and then Rio and BHP, not a good idea.

Shame to loose him especially because i think the big multinationals should pay more for this countries resources but you'd be a game government to go after them now with a swing against him like that!!

With resource prices on the rise no gov would want to upset the miners. Brendon's master stroke was royalties for regions but once those funds became limited his voice was diluted. He decided to have another crack with the mining tax proposition which I actually think had some merit.

He is a loss to western Australians

Tue, 2017-03-14 19:13

IMO Brendan Grills was one of the few politicians who had the interests of all west Australians at heart.

I believe that his idea of increasing the tax on mining and selling the product for very good returns is fair to the state of WA.

Now the election is out of the way just watch these two big companies reduce their work force to increase their profitability and run more of the mining from St Georges Terrace,no you say, just watch this space.

 friggin deadset Meg.
More trucks/trains/shiploaders and other stuff driven from out by the airport.

There is of course some merit in helping a company, big or small to provide work in regional areas.
Butt what about when the people are replaced with machines and/or robots?
Where is the social advantage in that to the people of WA?
