Video editing software

hi all,

Was wondering if anyone knows of a free video editing software program?  I just want to do basic editing like reducing the video in size and perhaps cutting some sections out... would also like to merge some video clips if possible?

Just got back from exmouth so I was going to put some of the video together that we have, along with uploading some photos....

cheers

wayne

Can't help with the editing software Wayne but I suspect you might have stumbled onto some good weather up there.

How did the fishing go?

I convert family vhs movies

Sun, 2008-10-12 21:01

I convert family vhs movies to dvd & swear by the following two programs:

  1. VirtualDub  - www.virtualdub.org
  2. TMPGEnc  - www.tmpgenc.net

VirtualDub is 100% free & I use it to chop out frames in movies (alot of family vhs tapes have snow in the middle where movies have been joined). also great for compressing to avi files

TMPGEnc is good for demuxing (splitting audio & video streams) & for encoding to Mpeg2 (DVD format). Unfortunately it only has 30 day trial for mpeg2 encoding but everything else is 100% free.
