Video of our adventures
Submitted by Chris fish on Tue, 2018-01-30 16:25
myself and my brother have been working hard to film a lot of what we get up to. This is hopefully the start of a lot more to come. Started filming at the end of October and this is some of what we have got. Let us know what you think and things you guys want to see more/less of.

I still have your booties if so, found on the island
Think my boys have claimed them now though
Give a man a mask, and he'll show you his true face...
The older you get the more you realize that no one has a f++king clue what they're doing.
Everyone's just winging it.

Hopefully the next videos will have more story to them that was a lot of us just figuring out how to use the camera and get our head around it.
Yeah I did a while ago and may have left stuff I’m not sure but as long as it’s put to good use all good.

A really great fishing video
A couple of things that make it really good for me, returning good fish to the water to live and fight another day. The wearing of life jackets when fishing from the stones, did the weather look dangerous, no but they still wore safety gear being prepared and as the saying goes you just never know when an unexpected wave is going to crop up.
Ag great video guys and thank you for allowing us to see you catch some great fish.

Like above watched it start
Like above watched it start to finish, not only good camera skills, you are a couple of excellent fishermen who put in the hard work, just a recommendation for ameteur fishermen though could you also include a bit of commentary about safety aspect of your fishing off the rocks. Look for to more adventures " The Rock Hoppers" keep them coming.

Thanks everyone. Mourn
Thanks everyone.
Mourn coming videos if I can sort our stuff out will be based on just single days. From the walks, collecting baits, the fish and all comentarry along the way. Hopefully we can share a lot more info and keep the adventures coming. For the safety side I will be doing a video on understanding swell and wind directions for the south coast which seems to confuse a lot of people and will include the safety and why we do things the way we do to make sure we are always as safe as we can be.

curious about one thing watching the video, do you guys ever secure yourselves to the rocks with rope in any locations as i know and understand how dangerous the south coast is. been many fishos go in off the rocke and not return

No neverour idea is if your
No never
our idea is if your tied off and get hit by a freak wave you will get ragdolled all over the rocks attached to it unable to do anything. If your straight washed in you can get clear of the edge and danger then inflate a PFD. The chances of going in are low if you are aware of a few things and know what to look for. This is where 90% of people go wrong because they don’t know or understand these few things. After our freak wave close calls we set about learning how and why it becomes dangerous.
Most dangerous waves will never hit you from in front they will always hit from the side and wash you in so the rock shape in an area where that can’t happen is what we look for in ledges, square edges and no sloping rocks next to us in the dirrection the swell comes from. . The next key is the swell info. A change in swell dirrection or period results in the waves bouncing off each other making “king waves”. if the dirrection, period or size are going to be changing that day we will fish in an area protected from the swell. Lastly the swell period dictates how much energy a wave has so how high it can push up a rock, a 2m wave with a 6 second period has significantly less energy than a 2m wave with a 20 second period. With that in mind we know where will be safe and what won’t be. It was a lot of trial and error but has certainly made for much safer Fishing and since we have worn the PFD’s we haven’t had another close call. The end of the day the easiest rule we always follow it “ if it’s to hard to land a good fish it’s to rough”
sorry for the long reply haha
