WA Barra Charters - Broome
Submitted by Matt T on Mon, 2020-08-17 12:23
Hey all,
Has anyone been out with Adam at WA Barra Charters before? Up in Broome in a couple of weeks time and have booked a creek trip, hopefully get some Barra and Threadies.
Just interested in others' experiences - operates a Stabi for the creeks so that should go well.
Cheers

Never heard of the charter
Never heard of the charter operation.
Ask him a couple of questions like where he intends to fish and what the tides will be like. Does he drop pots pots for muddies ? Will their be other clients ? Food, Water ? Can you have a beer if that's your thing. etc
Jump on google earth and look at the area he suggests you may be fishing so you have an idea of what to expect.
Tides more than likely will dictate how you will fish - whether it's live baiting, casting, trolling etc.
Don't forget to be sunsmart, midgie smart and pack a camera.
Have fun.

yeah i went out with him this year the week before they opened Broome back up. i knew of him from Miami and Mandurah Tackleworld when he was starting up his business in Derby. had a great day out with him where we caught a few mack tuna while trolling for sailfish. we did a bit of bottom bouncing but the sharks were in fine form that day. managed to get a few spanish flags and grassy snapper to the boat. anyting bigger just got hammered so we went trolling for the sailfish. there was only me and another comms techie on the boat which gave us more flexiabilty which was great.

Might have to drop him a
Might have to drop him a note. I'm heading up at the end of October and the two I contacted about sailfish drew a blank. One only hiring the whole boat which isn't viable when I'm on my own and the other doesn't expect to be fishing by then. It's neaps so timing is okay.
