Walpole Family Fishing Fun Day - This Saturday 26th September

If anyone's heading down to Walpole with the family this weekend for the school holidays, come down to Rest Point on Saturday morning and join in the family fishing day that Murdoch University and the Department of Fisheries are putting on.

There will be a free children's fishing clinic to teach kids the basics of how to catch estuarine fish such as Black Bream, Flathead, Whiting etc, and to promote sutainable fishing practices, correct fish handling and caring for the marine environment.

While the kids are fishing, adults can find out about current fish research that Murdoch and the Department of Fisheries are currently undertaking in the Walpole-Nornalup Marine Park, which includes about acoustic tracking of Black Bream, Flathead, Tarwhine and Pink Snapper.

Hope to see some of you there!
