hi everyone, just wondering if there is any chance of getting a spanyard while up at Lucky Bay this coming week? I know they are caught around Easter time and the weather is similar to then. i have the gear to get them but won't be targeting them, just hoping to get one as an accident while tailor fishing which isn't too reliable .
thanks,
lachie

Wouldn't like your chances
But you never know. Big north tide and warm weather comes in, they can appear, Wagoe /Lucky bay is funny like that. But it would be very out of season. They usually withdraw north as the year goes on, not common around/south of town after the end of May. Re-appear after Xmas, usually when weather is warming up in January.

Not sure how you would
Not sure how you would measure it landbased, My lowarance sounder has a water temperature feature so I use that. You can use http://www.seabreeze.com.au/graphs/wa_seatemp.asp I always keep my eye on that, but by the looks of it kalbarri will not be anywhere near 24 degrees.

Water temp at Kalbarri
Currently around 21 degrees, last couple of times I was out, and the tide was from the north, so probably a bit warmer than normal for this time of year?
