Walpole Whiting

First time fishing the Walpole inlet this morning. Cruised down towards the mouth of the inlet at the ocean and pulled the tinny up on a little sand island. Stood on the island and fished a narrow channel probably only around 1 to 1.5m deep and pulled out some of the biggest and fattest sand whiting I have ever caught. For reference, the KGW was 34cm. The big fish were as fat as my forearm. Plenty released as well. Great first impressions of the inlet which seems very healthy which is great to see!!

Last time I fished the same area it was pretty quiet, picked up a few whiting but not as productive as your session, staying at Rest Point ?

 Just sharing a small house

Just sharing a small house in town with my brother and our partners. Tough for me to make any comparisons as I have never fished here before but I was very impressed!

Cheers for the feedback and info guys. Managed to get back out for another awesome whiting session but couldn't tempt anybody else to come out with me for a night session. Will definitely be back to fish the area!!
