Weekend Weather - Jurien

As usual willyweather and wind finder are miles apart. Was looking to take a 4.5 tinny to Jurien / Green Head this weekend but not sure if its worth the hassel. Does anyone have a preference between the two? We are pretty capable operators but at the same time dont want to tow a boat up there only to have our backs broken!

Cheers

Borderline...

...if you go to Jurien, you're safe as houses in the bay...the outer reef catches most of the swell. The forecast winds look OK, and there are several islands in the bay where you can hide and still catch fish. Bear in mind that the south side of Boullanger (Long) Island is a totally protected marine sanctuary, in case you're looking at that to get away from the northerly winds.

Anyway, within the bay there are lots of shallow lumps that can hold big snapper, any time of day or night.

Im going to Greenhead this weekend. Willy weather rekons lowish wind saturday but fairly large swell. Heading up there is still better than sitting at home in the rain doing nothing.

ruce, with a 3m swell Saturday I think i'll be giving it a miss as its unfamila terretory for me. Sunday seems to be the pick.

Are you fishing from a tinny? how far do you usually venture out to find fish?

Cheers

Just spoke to a mate who went out today, rough as guts but looking at the forecast would have told you that. Plenty of dhuies around albeit only just size but if you hunt around you can get some beauties. Sat/sun looking better than today. Hes got a 23 footer but I'm going up there to do some 4wd tracks instead and have a fish off the beach.

If you fish in the bay you can get some rippa skippy and squid but be careful of the reef depending on where you are. Have a look at navionics webmap on google and you can scout around before you head up
