Nothing
Went out mid week and got a couple but did bugger all over the week end. Still working out what to do with a broken canopy on the boat. Will take a pic or two and post them in tomorrow.

Long distance
They will have to be good with a Tig or Mig welder.
Stiffened it up two trips back and its changed the stress points and cracked the middle supports.

Out with the crowd...
...chasing salmon at West End, first on Friday with Matt (hlokk) and my son, then yesterday with a workmate and his cousin (neither of whom had ever caught a big salmon before and were absolutely stoked).

got out on weekend ,hit
got out on weekend ,hit little island to collect live bait (gars) for an hour ,
then used them and soft plastics south rotto on a few lumps covered in fish. lots and lots of pinkies. got a couple then hit up west end for a quick salmon troll but was fishing for fillets so only did a couple of passes. what i can say is i had a brand new rapala cd14 on which got smashed once by a horse of a salmon. lure got absolutely killed and now in the pool room. no more wooden body lures for me.
out wider off west end into 70's for decent black arse and too many bloody sgt baker off a new bit of ground.
fun day (not one gar live bait got hit )
If I spent half as long fishing , as I do reading this bloody forum , I'd be twice the fisherman I am.

saturday
Was blowing pretty hard on Friday so went out saturday. Got 2 dollies and dropped a third, one goldy and hooked a few more to get busted up by sharks, a couple of pink snapper, small stripey tuna and no billies.
The guys from work went out chasing dollies yesterday and got 1 little black and put some divers in around NW reef and hooked a 25kg mackie only to have it destroyed by 6 tiger sharks at the back of the boat.
Apart from that, last 2 days have been great weatherwise and looks like today will be good as well, so will the rest of the week.

I was playing taxi driver most of the weekend
So I didn't even wet a line. Can't wait until next weekend to make up for it.

Kalbarri report
Took a run to Kalbarri on Tuesday returning Saturday.
Wittecarra was slowly weeding up from the recent weather. Unfortunately too much to fish effectively.
Gars caught off Red Bluff.
The river fished well for Whiting on river prawn; one to 23.5cm.
Tried Chinamans one morning but the pickers were in action.
Some boats reported mackeral coming back on.

Went out Sunday blind as a bat
No GPS!!!! So had to find a favourite spot from landmarks and triangulation, and the Sounder helped. Fished a Reef in Dampier in about 12m.
4 in the boat for the boss (no keepers) before I even had a bite, and I thought well here we go again.
But it wasnt her day. Lots and lots of solid Emporors of all varieties came up and soon the limit was gone. From then on targeting anything for fun. Threw some snapbacks around trying to score a C trout only to get mauled by undersize babies.
Also landed a nize just legal Estuary cod, which at this size when bled is one of the best eating.
All in all a nice day on the briney. Mixed bag 9 fish. 8 NW snappers and the EC will keep us in fish for a day or 2.

Headed off Bunno Saturday
Headed off Bunno Saturday morning withe missus. Not an early start due to James Boag! Got a couple of Dhuies, a monster Blackass and a couple of big squid but I thought the fishing was a bit tough (not that I'm complaining.) Plenty of fish showing on some good ground but not overly keen to play the game. Couple of tentative hits on the jig but bait did all the damage.

Saturday kids, Sunday Grown-ups
Spent Saturday just inside Quinns Reef chasing Gardies with my youngest and one of her freinds and their friend's dad. Was a lovely little session with a bag limit caught quite easily.
Us dads didn't fish we were kept busy rebaiting and removing fish etc, while the kids had a ball.
Ended up with a few gardies for exmouth and a few herring for the smoker.
Here is Emma with her new "Fishwrecked Junior Comp" rod courtescy of Tackleshack.
First cast with it and she was on.
And the result was a happy face.
PS: Dad isn;t allowed to use her rod & reel. (very possessive). (hehehe)
PPS: Sunday was great weather but fish were few and far between. Ended up with one BB, a whiskery shark, a small baldie, a sambo, a skippy and some whiting, plus released a few undersize dhuies, pinkies and BBs.
Cheers
