The West - Page 10 - greenies at it again

Just choked on my breckie when reading the west. Large advert from Saveourmarinelife.org.

They ask us to make a submission to www.saveourmarinelife.com.au , so why don't we and enlighten some of these rich know alls who know nothing about our marine environment.

Pity we don't have rich supporters so we can place a full page ad.

I wonder how many of these "rich supporters"...

Sat, 2011-07-30 08:58

...don't actually eat seafood at all? My guess is, not many. I'm sure they go to fancy restaurants and gulp down commercially caught marine life because in their view professional fishing is sustainable and amateur fishing is not, and how much native bushland was cleared to make room for their monstrous mansions in Applecross and Mosman Park? Yep bagging rec fishers is the trendy thing to do these days, they'll probably make a reality TV series out of it and put it on ahead of "Dancing With the Stars".

No, I didn't see the advert...I cannot read that newspaper with any food items remaining in my stomach. Maybe if I was on an IV at the hospital or something, but otherwise even the pink-and-gray upchucks when I put it in the bottom of his cage.

It only takes

$2000 bucks, roughly that is to put a decent spread in the local rag.

I'm sure the  "Rich/wealthy" as you put it, owners of mansions have an odd luxury battleship amongst them and could afford to spare a dollar or two to help with your cause.

How much fish come into the Marina's unchecked???? and exceeding bag/boat limits????

Reply to my submission

below is reply to my submision. Obviously they did not read it. They have facebook page. maybe we should be a friend to them and see how long before they block us

Dear Mark,

Thanks for taking action by emailing Australian Environment Minister Tony Burke on his proposed South West marine sanctuaries. The protection is dramatically-short of what our marine life needs, so its incredibly important that you've had your say.

Its also important that more people like you chip in and send a submission before our deadline of 8 August, which isn't far away. This is where we're depending on you.

Would you be able to let five friends know about this (or even more if you can)? Getting the message out there through personal networks will make more of a difference than just about anything right now.

If you want to know how else you can help you can:

1.) Join the Save Our Marine Life facebook group and share it with your friends;
2.) Circulate an email through lists you may have access to, or if you want a stack of submission postcards to pass onto friends let us know and we'll post some out;
3.) Order a bumper sticker

We don't have long now to get submissions in, the clock is ticking, and the stakes have never been higher.

Our mission is submissions!

Thanks again for helping out,

David

Did it, got about 3 posts in before being blocked.

Wasnt abusive or anything like that, just suggested that especially some of the foreign posters look a little closer into the issues instead of being force fed drivel.
