West Perth Goes into Administration

Sad to see one of the foundation clubs in dire strife but they effectively dug their own grave when they moved to an area with the highest population increase in Australia and chose to hang onto the West Perth name rather than embrace the new region and take the Joondalup name and reap in all the sponsorship money that would come from the local businesses. That Venueswest deal was a rotten one too where they couldn’t make money off the bar and I refuse to go to games at the Arena because they want to charge AFL prices for food and drink and WAFL games are supposed to be a family affordable option for watching live footy.
As a WAFL fan I hope they find a way out of this because they always bring a good crowd to Basso with some good crowd banter. I remember back in 2001 when the mighty Black Ducks were on the verge of collapse only to be saved by donations from our own and other clubs supporters so I’ll be pitching in when the time comes for the Cardies.

Its a great venue to watch the footy, watched the last jlt game there but havent been to any others to compare, so am limited in that area.
Always go to watch peel play west perth being a freo fan.
As the name suggests "west perth", couldnt give two hoots about them, but living in Joondalup I would support a team with a joondalup name.
Your right in that local businesses and council as they also see no point in sponsorship with west perth.
Sink or swim with the west perth name i guess.
As for the west perth history I couldnt give a damn as I have no affiliation but I would be happy to support a team if it was Joondalup.

These guys weren’t paying
These guys weren’t paying super for staff and players for a number of years and the administration was a joke.
i hope all the people they burnt will receive something back this is no different to big builders like cooper and Oxley and Builton running up debts at the expense of hard working people
