Where would you go if you could go anywhere in Australia during september

I've been pretty quiet on here lately, with everything going on I haven't had much of a chance to get the boat out either.

Long story short I've accepted a offer on my house and it's due for settlement end of August.

With some of the money my new partner and I have decided to take a 2 week holiday (with in Australia) we both haven't traveled and would love any ideas/suggestions on where to go. Kids are staying home so it's just us, we were thinking of flying to Melbore Sydney Brisbane then Cairns. We are definitely open to ideas and it doesn't have to be east or  coastal.

Cheers in advance

Gold Coast is excellent.

Gold Coast is excellent. There's a circular bus route that operates along the coast from Southport all the way down to Tweed Heads so you don't need a car and plenty of cheap food and drink options in the RSLs. Good surf too if you can hire a board.

  Yep- " The Kimberley's ".

We have just come back from Self Drive Gibb River Road, best 14 days that the wife and myself have spent time together, for long time.

We flew upto/and back  Broome.  Hired a 4WD( as we don't have one). The scenery, swimming, walks in so many different Gorge's was fantastic.

El Questro and Lake Argyle Resort for a few extra nights would be highly recommended from my wifes opinion.

Less people in September and still water in Gorge's for swimming.  Ohh and you can also get some fantastic fishing.

A bit of luxury- Infinity Pool: Lake Argyle.

I would say the Gibb would

I would say the Gibb would be a good option too. My old man has a few tours booked for there next year so doing a recon run. In thinking about tagging along. Just before it starts getting too hot but most of the crowds have moved on.

Would be good options. Coastal or inland or both.

Maybe climb the rock, if you are into that, before they try and ban it......again!

My pick

Thu, 2018-07-26 20:57

If I had the option to visit a few places my picks are ....,,

Hobart. A couple of days to see markets and historical spots like port Arthur and richmond

Sydney.  See the bridge and walk the harbour and visit bondi on the circle route bus. Blue mountains if you have time. Stay in the city, easy to get around

Port Douglas. To warm up and relax with the option to fish and see the reef plus rain forrest and lots of tours  then....

either Darwin for a top end fix. Markets crocs and a fish or Uluru to see sunrise and sunset and walk around the  rock.

Home for a rest having ticked the boxes an a few icons.

Agree that the Kimberley is great and I would do that on its own for two weeks. But needs a 4wd and gear to enjoy all the bits  lots to see just on tarmac though with tiursvan option.

Good luck. Lots to do and see.
