Westerberg

I'm toying with the idea of selling my current boat which is a 2006 Trailcraft Profish 475 with a 60hp four stroke Yammie to purchase an ali around the 6 meter mark.
One of the boats on the short list is Westerberg’s 6.1m “Eclipse”.
The question is does anyone own one or been a regular user/passenger of this model Westerberg. Are they a good rig, what is the ride like and how do they handle both underway and at rest. Any additional info on build quality overall finish etc would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

My old man has had a westy
My old man has had a westy for 19 years and still goes strong. They have been designed to fish put from Albany and are an awesome fishing boat!!! Ride really well even in a following sea. I have had days coming back from the shelf in a good 20-25knot south wester, while you get wet( because we done have hard top) its still a gOod ride. Dads boat has fished from Albany to karatha and it rides quiet soft in choppy seas! Well worth there money

Sweet boats
We had a 5.8 westy with bimini never got wet and we fish mainly out of Bremer bay.
Been out on some hairy days but at no stage felt unsafe,we also travel up to 30+ km off
Handles all seas well and fished at rest with ease.

Westerberg '92 model 5.2m prosport
Having owned this particular hull for 12 years, in the kimberleys only it is certainly stable at rest. We tend to get a short sharp chop that makes life hell when travelling anywhere near it, there is no way that i would call it a soft ride, or dry for that matter. Following seas are supposed to be their fortue but we tend to get washing machine sloppy rolling following seas when i have never felt too comfortable. Call me a flat track bully but i would rather leave the rough stuff to the the guys with testostorone overload than smash my way through some of the weather we get especially at this time of year. Have done over 100 trips out of Wyndham and have had to take the good with the bad. Still got the old girl because it does fish well and can comfortably do overnighters with 3 on board.
