i recently bought a second hand southerner 7.5m. obviously a different boat to this one but the quality of everything on it is very high. since i've got the new boat i have run into and chatted with a few westerberg owners and they all seem very happy with them.

 My brother has this westerberg with the step up style hull it's the best ally boat I've been in by far or ride quality powered by a 100 hp Yamaha I know it's not the model your looking at but I really think you can't go wrong with them

I see they are at the boat show at Hillarys. $10 entry, worth a look. I have only heard good things about them.

 Is your boat a Westy? Your tub looks very solid. Plenty of good fish coming aboard.

Nah mate it is a Reefa, similar hull design. Razor used to have a smaller Westy before he got his bigger tub though.

 Once again only good reports, my westy is a 5.7 mid 80's still going strong.  I would have no hesitation buying another.

The boat show just has one and it's about 7.5m

they make really great trailers too

 Interesting to see if they

 Interesting to see if they are putting the flooding keel on them now. I bought mine off drew (was his boat) and it has the flooding keel which was the first. He said they were looking at putting them on some other models. Seems to work quite well and as I said am very happy with it. Trailer is mint but has cost me a fortune today to do a service...

 Good bloke drew.

My old mans boat was getting refurbed down there when he sold his southern aroura to build the boat you must have bought jarrid. He is passionate bout what he does, did he mention what he's building next.

They did a great job on the refurb. High quality

 Yeah he is a great bloke. The southern aurora was for sale on boats online last time I looked. Mine is the one after and very similar except mine is 2.5m beam instead of the 2.8m beam.

He he said he was going to build something to survey to get into a bit of commercial fishing. He was cleaning up on the deep drop stuff on my boat.

 I have a Westerberg Eclipse 6.1 2002 mdel with a 150 yamaha 4 stroke,I have owned this boat for a couple of years and find it very servicable for an aluminium boat.This is my first ally boat (ive had about 10 or 12 fibreglass boats over the years}

The ride is not as good as a glass boat but a  good and dry ride for an ally boat, compared to other ally  boats ive been in.Theyare a  well built  and strong boat and i would highly recommend these boats

P.S. May be looking to sell mine in the near future

Cheers Rob
