WFT gliss vs normal braid
Submitted by Ethan A on Mon, 2018-03-26 19:41
Hi Guys
I have just been doing some research on what line to buy next for this years salmon run and have just found this WFT Gliss line they say it is not mono or braid has anyone tried this line before is it better then braid? Can you use the same knots as fishing with braid like the fg knot?
Thanks
Hutch

Simply put its shit IMO.Thin
Simply put its shit IMO.
Thin and casts well but frays way too easily and doesn't last anywhere near as long as standard braided line. Bit of a prick to tie knots with too

A mate of mine had some
A mate of mine had some gliss and it seemed to break way below what it was rated. Could have been a bad batch but I've heard of quite a few having the same issues. Maybe look at something else

Put some on my young fellas
Put some on my young fellas rod to save a bit of coin. He then went on to lose 90 bucks worth of squid jugs in ten minutes. Not worth it

Finns Braid
Used 30lb Fins for years on a jig rod. I had no issue with it. A bit stiffer and thicker than more expensive brands but could handle a bit of reef rub. Never did any casting with it so cant comment there.

Power Pro
I run Power Pro on a few reels,
Don't get any wind knots which is a massive +, also have 30lb fins on a reel, find the braids to be fairly similar, both a little thicker than expensive braids but both break well above the stated strain

I used gliss and loved it,
I used gliss and loved it, until it frayed in just a few days. I use Kato braid mainly, just started using J braid too. Both good.
EDIT: Totally forgot to mention my favourite braid, Suffix
