Improved uni knot

 Hi guys

I have been working on better ways to tie the Uni knot and found this method of going through the eye of the hook/lure twice then do the normal steps for a Uni knot l have been testing it against the normal Uni knot and it is way stronger has anyone else tried this way of tying the Uni knot like this is it better then the normal Uni?

Thanks

I tend to agree with Jozo. I don't bother with it in mono or fluoro leaders, often the leader won't fit through the eye twice anyway. If you're tying braid to a swivel or other tackle instead of using an FG knot then it does feel more secure than a standard uni

Swivel on each end of a piece of line you would use and tie a regular uni and an improved one, see which breaks first under a load and observe the weight reading. I like the way the knot bites down but i dont think it will massively improve the overall strength. Test and find out!
