Whales jumping

Hi guys
Went out yesterday afternoon chsasing some pinks.Arrived at my spot and just about to drop anchor when I see a huge shape come out of the water about 50m away.
A whale was jumping clean out of the water, it did this three times.Scared the crap out of me.
With it being so close I didnt really know if I should just watch or move away in case it came closer, I only have a 4.2m runabout.
They ended up staying around for about two hours just coming to the surface every now and then, splashing their tails.
No bloody snapper though.

had some playing around last
had some playing around last year
1 started jumping, coming in straight line towards the boat , starting to feel a bit small , we tripped the sea anchor and moved about 50 m to the side
3 jumps later it fell pretty much exactly where we were fishing before

yep heaps up here in exmouth as well, had one breach about 20m away on sunday and one swim under the boat, which is pretty daunting on a 4m tinny.
Cheers Joel

Pinks are still around,
Pinks are still around, mostly at night this time of year I came in earlier than usual yesterday.
Whales were out near the four mile out from the jetty, not sure you would see them from shore. Best bet probably Dunsborough (Castle Rock, Meelup) if youre going to Margs go to Augusta.
