what did you do to make your dinghy more comfortable?
I have a quintrex fishseeker 4.5m dinghy... I live in mandurah so its a perfect boat for what we do, plenty of crabbing during the summer & fishing when ever we can... at the moment I have the normal bench seats, being a dinghy as you probably already know they can be a bit harsh on your back... I will be upgrading the boat one day but not anytime soon... I was wondering what people have done to make their boat more pleasurable when it gets a little choppy to stop the jarring.. seats would probably be a big improvement but how did you go securing them to the thin skin of the existing bench seat. I have also thought about a underfloor fuel tank approx 70lt (currently have the 25lt plastic in the back) did you notice much of a difference after doing this? anyway any feedback or ifeas much appreciated.

seats fo' sho!
a heavily padded seat is a must, but whats good with a tiller steer dinghy is, you have to sit at the back, which is a far better ride.
power trim and tilt on my 4.75 seajay (50hp Yamaha), enables me to trim the ride to suit the conditions, which is the best way to soften the ride.

If you're going to put seats
If you're going to put seats in, bolt a square piece of marine plywood between the seat base and dinghy bench. It adds strength.
A fish in the hand is worth 10 in the water!
